sorry, but what do you mean "in Catalan" ? there isn't a "Catalan character
set" that i'm aware of. maybe you mean ISO-8859-1 ?
at any rate, imo, the only charsets that matter at all when it comes to
defaults are ASCII and UTF-8. sane defaults there covers 99% of the world and
if you want to use a legacy codeset in the <1%, then you can tweak the
default.
i agree with Benno -- the reason i like · is because it's small enough to be
unobtrusive, but big enough to be noticeable. and it's centered nicely.
