Hi,
Looking through the code I was surprised to see that there are
comments for translators included in there, but there are none in
nano.pot. The gettext documentation does not make this clear, but
a little experimentation shows that this "Translation:" thing has
to be in all uppercase in order to be recognized. The line also
has to be placed before the gettextization of the string itself,
not before the use of a constant to which the string was assigned.
And the comment containing the translator tag must end on the line
containing the string, or on the line before it, but not any
further back. Attached patch makes the required changes.
After applying the patch, run 'make dist' and have a look at the new
nano.pot.
Regards,
Benno
