Afaik, Thomas Keller builds the SuSE rpms.

Sorry, I've been a bit busy (I just lead one of the biggest
demonstrations against data retention today in Leipzig!) - I build the
SuSE rpms on my working machine and had no problems recently, though I
haven't yet upgraded to 10.3. I haven't followed the complete
conversation closely, but I got the impression that something is wrong
with the documentation setup...?

Yes. The install-info command creates a info/dir file in the destdir, and this file is not known by the file list. Hence, rpmbuild complains about an extra, unknown file in that directory. I think the problem has been there for a while, though, at least when I tried this same thing back in March on a Fedora Core 6.

The fix I proposed consists on removing info/dir after the install- info command so that the package needn't care about that file. But the question is: does SuSE require that file to be present in the package (because the problem doesn't seem to exist on it)? Or does it behave correctly even if it is not there?

Thanks,
