...so this is not limited to FreeBSD/amd64 but also shows up on
Linux/amd64, with gcc 3.4.x.
"-O0" is a fine work-around, but that bug will have to be solved
eventually, many people (me included, in production boxes) are still
suck to gcc3.x series... =(
