I've discovered that the mtn-attr-update script I wrote (and put on the
wiki) doesn't work because, at least with my monotonerc from the same
page (http://www.venge.net/monotone/wiki/UnixAttribsAndSymlinks), that
mtn attr set attribute value is resulting in the attributes (unix file
modes and permissions) on the other files in the same directory getting
reset to the attributes previously set on those files. This is bad.

I think it is because attr_functions is called for every monotone
workspace command, but there is no way to determine what command has
been issued in order know the difference between a checkout and the
setting of an attribute on an unrelated file.

And that's my crabbing done for the day. Got it out of the way early,
now I have the rest of the afternoon to sniff fragrant tea-roses or
strangle cute bunnies or something. -- Michael Devore
