I think Olivier has already got bash autocompletion working. Check the ml archives for a relevant post. Also, I added subcommand expansion quite a while ago and graydon merged it in not so long ago so
$ monotone st $ monotone upfor example will give you a status or do an update as you would (hopefully) expect.
