The problem could be of snmptrap expects some environment variable ... maybe it 
could be path to MIB so it can resolve the symbolic names? (this can be 
workaround by numeric OID) Or maybe your snmptrap is linked with some library 
which is not in loaders path? (platform specific - usually LD_LIBRARY_PATH ... 
you can check the library using "ldd" on most platforms).
