Just doing a final bit of testing on monit on a machine with
incorrectly configured DNS.  This causes exim to take ages to accept a
connection, and I noticed that monit will attempt to fix a  broken
service *after* the notification email had send out.

It's not a huge issue, but were it the other way round this incident
would save a whole 15 seconds of downtime :)
