I am seeing this as well. However, it looks like it is a 
toolchain/kernel issue.

It appears that if you compile with 2.4 headers, but run with a 2.6 
kernel you'll see the problem, probably vice versa as well.

IMHO, I don't see this as a monit problem per se. (I.e I don't think we 
want to abstract this out in monit) However, I've added a note in 
PLATFORMS and I'll take a look to see if there is a version-independant 
way to do this.
