mld refreshes its memory every compaction_delay....this can be quite
cpu-intense...if you dont have problems with mld using too much memory
you can try to increase this value...if you do - try to decrease...

anyway: change it to maybe 3h and look how long you can run mld
without your machine locking up....if this time increases to something
like 3h you know where the problem is....

(normally this conpaction takes a few minutes but mld then calms down
again....)
