I don't think there are many gtk users on the list, it's never been
clear if the static builds actually work well for larger applications
(and I don't use it myself). With the new multi-target framework,
we'll probably drop the static build and add support for dynamic
versions of both 2 and 3. I don't recall any major issues with v3 the
last time I looked [1] (but it was some time ago).
