1) Have you setup ibus and ibus-m17n correctly? i.e. Can you use/test
any of the existing m17n MIM input methods?

2) m17n-edit is a great tool for testing m17n input without having to
deal with ibus.

3) I don't know if there is a standalone parser that validates the MIM
files. If not, simply strip the MIM to the basics till it works, then
keep adding a bit of code and testing each time.
