OK -- I hit backspace three times (repeating: just three
times), and I get to GOOGLE, ie way down at the bottom
of the stack.

Anyway, I now hit backspace -- AND LOOK AT WHAT I SEE:

It's crazy -- what the hist-page depicts and
the (seeming) ACTUAL situation are *different*.

(Note: this version is what runs on panix.com,
my (shell-account providing) isp -- perhaps
they screwed up the install?)
