eliminating the 3-left " " how lynx would make to
represent the headings h1, h2, or blockquote, etc?

try it yourself this two examples:

------------------------- struc.htm --
<h1>Lynx layout left-margin</h1>

<p>Simple line of text...</p>

<p>Welcome to the GNU Project web server, www.gnu.org. The GNU Project was launched in 1984 to develop a complete UNIX style operating system which is free software: the GNU system. (GNU is a recursive acronym for “GNU's Not UNIX”; it is pronounced “guh-noo.”)</p>

------------------------- no-struc.htm --

<pre>
Lynx layout no left-margin
