Kermit is excellent: get 3.15 from .

in lynx.cfg uncomment the line (remove the `#'):
#DOWNLOADER:Use Kermit to download to the terminal:kermit -i -s %s -a %s:TRUE

MS-Kermit (for DOS) was last updated c 1998,
& is controlling this access to the U Toronto CHASS system;
C-Kermit (for UNIX) dates from January 2000:
C-Kermit seems to work quite well on my (under development) Linux OS,
tho' it lacks some of the terminal-emulation features of MS-Kermit,
which it leaves to Linux & X-Window to define.
