Hmm, Henry, your writing is too rhetorical (or ironical?)
for me to understand.

As far as I undestand, you advised me not using lynx*/po but
maintaining pot files independently and it was a better way.

And I thought that if I have enough knowledge to maintain
pot files by myself then it might be a better way but because
I did not have enough knowledge on pot files so it was a difficult
way _for me_.  

So I choose an easier way (for me!) to use lynx*/po and a configure 
script of lynx even if it is not a better way.

Then why you conclude that "YOU would volunteer to write the 
docs/README.intl" from the above my reasoning and/or what is the
real meaning of your sentence?
