2.8.4 - at the current rate, perhaps 6 months of work, or more (last
December would have been a good time for 2.8.3, but no one had time to
do the extra work required to make a release)

for 3.0 -
the general consensus was when lynx implemented some major new functions
such as tables (in the sense that people are asking ;-), Java or JavaScript.
