About the need for a slash, the link is for a FILE,
not a DIRECTORY.  I might be wrong, but I read in that
2nd edition "webmaster in a nutshell" book that it is
only for DIRECTORIES that one was to use the trailing
slash.  (This was in its section on "efficiency").
