Lynx can handle secure transactions,
but you have to compile it yourself due to US copyright/export regulations.
start at lynx.browser.org/ or www.chass.utoronto.ca/~purslow/lhfb.html
& follow the links re `security', `SSL' etc, which give basic advice:
you have to get SSL source, then compile Lynx to include it.
if you still have problems, ask again here.
the latest Lynx release is 2-8-2 from www.slcc.edu/lynx/release :
2-8-3 should be released in a few weeks (we keep saying that: smile).
