I called united to get some flight times and prices;
they gave me some, I exclaimed "too expensive!", and was
told to go to www.ual.com, where they offer special deals,
etc. That that was the ONLY way to get cheaper prices
on their flights.
So, I go there. They ask for my pin number or freq-flier code,
which I don't have, and then say that thus I would be a
"new user", and to hit the "NEW USER" button.
No such button, at least not in lynx.
---
Then I phone american airlines, and their recording says
unless I want to wait a long time (phones loaded, they say),
I should go to www.aa.com.
So I do that. I end up in a cycle-of-links, keep coming
back to www.aa.com. Here is my email to them:
MY EMAIL:
I use the text-only browser LYNX.
LYNX is the most popular text-only browser, and is
used by lots of BLIND users.
I went to www.aa.com, then chose whatever (doesn't seem
to matter), and THAT ends up at a page saying that
you've moved to the NEW site, www.aa.com, and should
bookmark that site.
Yeah, great. That's exactly where I came in.
It's one big circle, and if I followed instructions,
I'd just be a dog chasing its tail, forever.
IDEA: why don't YOU try LYNX on YOUR site, and see if
YOU can get anywhere.
If you find some trick, please let me know.
THANKS!
