Linux 2.0.3 was so early in the 2.0.x series that it will be quite buggy.
(In my view, the 2.0.x series was released too early.) The current
released 2.0.x kernel is 2.0.36 or 2.0.37.
Also, this problem relates to libraries, so the kernel version is irrelevant,
but the distribution is quite important.
