| | Hmmm ... firstly, something seems to be rather busted with your mail s/w,
| | Tom. Your Date: header is suddenly coming across the wire (in two consec-
| | utive messages) as:
| |
| | Date: Thu, 31 Dec 1998 22:52:14 -72500 (EST)
| | ^^^^^^--------[should be -0500, of course]
| |
| | which mutt (actually, strftime()) happily interprets as Jan 03, 1999 with
| | %y/%Y as the year format tokens, or as Jan 03, 1998 using %g/%G.
| |
| | Or is this an attempt to get a year up on the Y2K bugs ... :-) ...?
|
| This happened to me yesterday too. Also using mutt, and my timesone is
| also -0500. A message I sent a few hours before midnight had something
| like -87500 in it (I don't have a copy any more).

I set the clock back. A message sent by mutt after 19:00 on Dec 31 in
NY (which is after midnight UTC) produced +875500, instead of -0500.
FWIW, the difference is 876000, which when divided by 24 yields 3650
