Lynx doesn't support Java.

You may use Lynx in an xterm, but netscape and xterm are two entirely different
entities. Netscape is a (rather large) program of its own, providing you a
graphical web browsing environment in the X Window System, whereas xterm is
merely
a program providing a TTY/terminal-like interface to your Unix system from
within
the X Window System. xterm, lynx, and netscape are all *totally* unrelated,
except
for the fact that lynx can be run within an xterm, since lynx requires a
TTY/terminal
interface to operate and xterm provides just that.
