I tried following the link to a .wav file in the Jos Lemmens Page.  I
got "Permission Denied".  Have you another example that's not protected?

Lynx doesn't contain a wav player, but could likely use any defined as
a helper app for Content-type: audio/wav in your .mailcap file.
