lynx-dev problem for vi access to tnauk bbs. |

dear sirs, i am the chairman of the tech committee of the talking
newspaper assoc of the uk. we send e mail magazines and periodicals to
hundreds of blind members in the uk.
i am blind myself, and am also a rotarian. using rotary, we have now
established a bbs with password access, and via our website,
www.tnauk.org.uk.
we are having two distinct problems.
the first is that lynx 2.82 doesnt seem to support the inclusion of
username and password in the url.
ie, http://angus:address@hidden/bbs/
it would be so handy to put this address, for example, in the favourites
menu. but in no way will lynx allow this. i am with dircon, who have
lynx 2.82.
i am using a login, dos shell account, and my programme is procomm plus 2.01.
the second problem is that i can only get in to the bbs and through the
password sequence about twice before it seems to block. i have also a
password etc which now also is blocked. it is rotary for username, and
ggreen for password.
i also tried telnet to delphi.com, and lynx. same problem. but, if i go
via www with delphi, and avoid lynx, it is fatiguing, but ok.
the web provider is an organisation called virtual internet.
i would be so grateful if you could help. btw, all is ok if a friend
uses windows 95, even with lynx. it seems to be a dos problem.
thanks, angus mckenzie. m.b.e.
