lynx-dev lynx 2.8.1dev17 bug

Hi,
The following bug with lynx 2.8.1dev.17 (1998) with SSL
creates serios problem for me.
I am using Linux 2.0.35 and use ppp modem connection to connect to the internet.
I download some files automatically through
lynx -source https://www...../file >localfile.html
If modem connection lost during this download lynx is stalled and never exit.
There is no such problem in telnet.
Is there any way to fix this.
