You have to work hard to keep Lynx from doing this.  You don't
need to change Lynx, but you do need to work on the environment
for the accounts from which it is used.  termcap and terminfo are
related terms and different flavors of Un*x-line OSs handle
terminal characteristics differently.  But Lynx is designed for
a full VT-100 compatible terminal, so lesser terminals will give
you fits.

Yes you can do this.  Scan the last few months of lynx-dev
discussion at <www.flora.org/lynx-dev/html> for recent
discussions of this issue.  I am not volunteering to look it up,
but I believe I recently saw a good synopsis that you wound want
to read.
