There is code afloat.  Work the postmaster and MIME networks.
I am seeing lots of messages arrive in my inbox with the notation

X-MIME-Autoconverted: from quoted-printable to 8bit by <the mailhost
that handled the inbound message for me at my ISP> <an ID notation>.
