Pressing the "up-arrow" after pressing "g" will give you the previous
URL.   To get the old behavior back by default, you have to edit
lynx.cfg.  Your system administor can do this, or you can copy lynx.cfg
to your own directory (if you have a shell account), and run lynx as
"lynx -cfg=path_to_lynx.cfg/lynx.cfg".  Set GOTOBUFFER:TRUE in lynx.cfg.
