I was in the midst of putting a page up that relies heavily on < and >
characters, so I ran a filter through the original text document and
replaced < with < and > with >.
If there was text that was formatted as: (examples)
formatted as displayed as
<not playing> <not playing>
< not> < not>
It appears to me that if there's an < and immediately following, a
space, the < is displayed. if there's an < and not a space, it displays
as < instead of <. I've had no problems with >, but I'm assuming the
same thing would happen if I were to want to display >not< as >not<
I viewed the page using (ugh) Netscape and (double ugh) IE, and everything
displays correctly. PLease advise.
