Site Canada:

The fact that tables pose information accessibility problems
(given current access adaptation technology for the blind) is a
reasonably well established fact, not just for Lynx users. For
one discussion you might want to consult

  http://trace.wisc.edu/text/guidelns/htmlgide/htmlgide.htm#text.layout

Jay:

I visited the Canada Site briefly and found the table use innocuous.
Can you point to any pages there where the use of tables detracts
meaningfully from the accessibility of information offered at the
site?

All:

There is a current action item in the Web Accessibility
Initiative to address the problems with tables. I think this is
the biggest technical challenge before the WAI. Harvey Bingham
<address@hidden> is the point of contact for this action item.
