That is not the latest version. I assume you got that from
<http://sol.slcc.edu/lynx/klaus/merged/all/>. It is an older
directory which I didn't have the time to update regularly;
unfortunately, a link from <http://www.browser.org/> still points to
it. [ Who maintains www.browser.org anyway? Rob, or someone else? ]
So sorry if that caused you confusion about the "current development version".
BUT, in the abovementioned location, there is a README.1ST.html file which
clearly (I think) points to
<http://sol.slcc.edu/lynx/current/>
(and some other locations) to check for newer versions. So please
check there, or on the patch page (you'll find a link to it), if you
want to get the "latest".
On which coast the University of Kansas is located is an interesting
topic, but one I don't want to get into...
