Subject: LYNX-DEV More information on -get_data and -post_data options needeed
I'd appreciate to know where I can find information on how to use
-get_data and -post_data options.
I think I roughly understand what these options means but I don't
understand exactly how it's working.
The User's Guide helpfully says:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lynx Users Guide v2.6 (p70 of 82
-post_data
properly formatted data for a post form are read in from
stdin and passed to the form. Input is terminated by a
line that starts with '---'.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An acceptable format is a set of text lines each of which contains one
name=value equation. Don't forget the "---" line to end the data entry.
Practice this interactively and then put the data in a file and
redirect stdin [On Unix, with '<'].
Should you want to populate a large TEXTAREA you may not be able to get
the whole text within one line, at which point you can learn the
multipart/form-data MIME type, or other format selected from the
"Lynx and forms" section of the User's Guide.
