this came up last year, but i've no idea how to find it in the archive.
last saturday i tried to download a hilarious story in Washington Post
about how RMN mused over vandalising his own party HQ.
i carelessly got the wrong page,
so next day i went into their search form, asked for Nixon
& got a list of stories + links.
unfortunately the link i needed had ../ inserted
after www.washingtonpost.com/ resulting in a 404 Not Found.
however, g with the same URL edited to omit the ../ got to the story.
i alerted their man, who sent me a long & polite e-reply,
but appeared quite unconscious of the error in his software.
MY POINT here is that i'm sure i saw something about this last year,
as a standard bug, possibly a Netscapism or something.
do we (collectively) know of this as a FFB (frequently found bug)
with a well-known cause which webmasters can be informed of easily?
anyone with a better memory than mine for list threads?
