Maybe something from the instructions on how to
make Perl5 on solaris will help.

They say that for perl at least that the gnu as and ld
won't work, and tell you to add "-B/usr/ccs/bin" to
ccflags, ldflags, and lddlflags in the constructed
perl makefile.

I myself don't vouch for anything -- I still can't get
it all to work.  For whatever it might be worth (in case
someone knows the answer, before I go post it on comp.lang.perl.misc)
(and it MIGHT give a clue to LYNX on Solaris 2.5.1, which is
what I too have)
here is a 2nd run of a make, showing just stuff not yet done:
