I've gotten it to work on a 486-DX2/50 ALR Flyer using a 3Com 3c503 card,
with the following commands:
3c503 0x63 5 0x300 1
lh cwsdpmi -p
set WATCONF=c:\wattcp.cfg
set LYNX_CFG=c:\lynx.cfg

The 3c503 is a packet driver from the crywr collection we've used for
years with MS-Kermit over our LAN.
