The latency is not coming from my application. I use exactly the same
application for both versions

Thanks for clarifying this.

Comparing your two wireshark logs, I see a difference in response latency
from lwIP, too (I assume x.x.x.1 is the lwIP host). Does this latency come
from your application (or your protocol or even the wireshark-recording
machine) or is this also a side effect from upgrading to 1.3.1?

Since I don't have your application, knowing this would simplify reproducing
this on my own pc.
