Well, if you're developing a brand new product from scratch, using IPv6
is much more desirable. 

The fact that the current implementation is IPv4-only or IPv6-only does
not preclude us from ALSO doing a dual stack, right?

With Vista being the first windows system to really support IPv6,
I think the time is now slowly coming to have IPv6 support in
embedded systems also. But of course, this depends on the target
market of the device. Consumer devices might need IPv6 support
much earlier than industry devices, since providers might want
to force IPv6 upgrade, since more IPs are available.

But right now, noone really needs IPv6 (aside from some research
Projects, like lwIP when it started :-)) and so it hasn't been
continued since then.

I'd like to work on this some time, but I think the rest of our
bugs and todos are more important. If you do work on it, you're
welcome to post your work!
