[lwip-users] Ephemeral port range

I was wondering why the port range for ephemeral (or dynamic) ports was
chosen as it is now. The current sources define it to be between 4096 and
32767. That strikes me as a bit odd since this is a rather unusual range. It
is neither in the IANA dynamic ports range, nor in the original BSD range
nor in the extended Solaris port range.

Have I been missing out on a change of the customarily used port range for
ephemeral ports? All the info I have on current OSes show that they use
something similar to the classic three ranges.

How about changing the default ephemeral port range in lwIP to 49152-65535
as specified by the IANA?

Florian.
