Hi
My board support both Memory and I/O mode of CS8900A .It can be acessed
in 16 bit mode and my board support interrupts. Now i am trying to use the
driver in I/O mode and have some problems with transmission exactly i cannot
write into the RXTXREG dataport .

Best regards,
Jibin George

I am not familiar with your board, but a couple of questions come to mind:
1) Is your board I/O-mapped or memory-mapped? Perhaps you can't see the
signature in memory, because it's not in memory (it's in I/O space)...
2) Does your board permit 16-bit accesses, or only 8-bit?
3) Does your board provide for interrupts?

I believe the Woestenberg drivers are for 16-bit memory-mapped systems only.
I am working on making the driver a bit more generic to cover the 8-bit and
I/O-mapped cases. Please see my thread "Suggestion for CS8900 driver".

Best regards,
Dick.
