Follow-up Comment #3, bug #31748 (project lwip):
You could add a member to the ARP table e.g. 'arp_holdoff'. When an ARP
request is desired, if arp_holdoff is 0, set it and send the packet. If it's
1, do nothing. Clear arp_holdoff on each call through etharp_tmr. Except for
the first miss, ARP replies won't occur more often than ARP_TMR_INTERVAL. If
the first request is dropped the second one will occur 0 to ARP_TMR_INTERVAL
later which will help a little to shorten the lag on the retry.
It recommends 1 second but using 5 isn't a problem in reality, is it?
