Hi Arun,

Basically you need to write a new spec file and add it into your platform's main.lkc. This would contain the base kernel tarball and the patches to go on top. Note that there's no guarantee that patches from an earlier kernel are a) needed, b) would apply to the later sources.

Take a look at this post, which has most of the details: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/ltib/2009-11/msg00084.html

Regards, Stuart

I am running 2.6.28 kernel on imx233 evk board, i would like upgrade my kernel version from 2.6.28 to 2.6.30 on LTIB.

1) getting source code from kernel.org <http://kernel.org>: http://kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/linux-2.6.30.tar.gz
2) unzip it : tar zxvf linux-2.6.30.tar.gz
3) cd linux-2.6.30
4) apply freescale board specific pathces : patch -p0 < ../freescale.patch

is this correct method to upgrade my kernel version ??

or What is the method shall i follow in order to upgrade kernel version ??

Thanks in Advance

Regards
Arun
