There is no good way to do this.  I suggest you wait until the document
is finalized, and then manually make replacements such as from

   @Cite{$art1, $art2, $art3, $art4}

to

   @Cite{$art1--$art4} @NoCite{$art2 $art3}

@NoCite causes its citations to appear in the reference list but
produces nothing at the point of the citation (see User's Guide).
