I needed to do this in order to include large protein sequence
alignments formatted using a program named Alscript. The Alscript PS
output is quite primitive, so it was not that difficult to slice it to
one-page pieces with a text editor and convert the pieces to EPS. Most
of the work could probably have been done with
Ghostscript/Ghostview/gv by printing to an EPS file one page at a
time.
