Whole appendix in lines @Break?

I'm trying to get a complete appendix of a book to
be in lines @Break style.

The problem that I run into is that lines @Break wants to be
applied to a paragraph, so lout won't break the resulting object
across pages.

Any suggestions?

(I'm using lout 3.18)

Long, truthful aside:

I'm trying to include a program written in Perl in an appendix of my
thesis (a "book").

@CP barfs horribly on the $ signs and throws core.

@Verbatim screams about character "\011" having no glyph (but we all
knew _that_, right?), then notes that no @RefPlace precedes or
follows this @RefPlace&&foll_or_prec, and drops the lot.

So I wrote some code to protect the 11 Special Characters (/|&address@hidden")
with double quotes, so now I have something that looks great if I can
get it into @F and lines @Break...but now it isn't breaking across
pages!

What did my brain miss?
