[Linphone-developers] Codec negotation

Hi,

Recently I analyze ability of SIP protocol. As I read SIP is for 
"creating, modifying, and terminating sessions". On Linphone webpage is 
info that it's compatible with some other SIP based programs.
My question is: is there somewhere specified protocol for negatiating 
using codec and generally for establishing what is sending in a stream.
Maybe it's trival question, but it's unclear for me and maybe I'll find 
an answer here.
