Yes, that is exactly what I was looking for, thanks very much! My next problem is that this now overlaps the staff instrument names. I could fix this with a bigger indent in the \paper block, but changing the left-margin and indent variables according to NR 4.1.1 doesn't seem to have any effect at all. I'm going to have to dig into it a bit.
