Does the distance from the barline [at the end of m.2] to the aaaa really look 
the same to you as the distance from the barline [at the end of m.3] to the a?
It's nearly twice the distance!

On MacOS, you can just use Command-Shift-4 [for taking a screenshot], and then 
stretch out the box and read the numbers.  ;)
