You're not using a snippet from the Lilypond Snippet Repository, rather you're using a regression test, which is a tracking device for errors and unwanted changes which might have crept in as development on the program proceeds.

You're using code designed for a very old version (2.10.33), and many things have changed in the meantime, of course. For example, there is no "bar-size" property in 2.18, which version you ask about.
