I think I didn't understand it.
I've tried it with
lilypond-invoke-editor gvim --remote +:line:normcolumn test.ly
but I got:
ERROR: no such option: "remote"

you could have tested it this way:

gvim --remote +:5:norm5 YourFile.ly 
E247: no registered server named "GVIM": Send failed. Trying to execute locally

I get that warning, but the file is opened correctly at column 5 of line 5.

Anyway, these are the steps to make it work:

1) in ~/.bashrc add this line to the bottom:
export EDITOR=/usr/bin/gvim

2) You should  configure your desktop environment (KDE?) to let lilypond-invoke-editor handle the textedit URIs.
